HIGH POINT, NC (September 1, 2026) — The Lenny Peters Foundation has donated $100,000 to Open Door Ministries of High Point, contributing toward the organization’s goal of raising $250,000 to support its work preventing and ending hunger and homelessness in the community.
Dr. Lenny Peters, founder of Bethany Medical and now the organization’s Chairman, presented the donation to Open Door Ministries’ executive director Ryan Ross Tuesday at the Lenny Peters Foundation in High Point. The gift reflects his longstanding commitment to the Triad, a value that has guided his work since founding Bethany Medical more than 40 years ago.
“Open Door Ministries changes lives in our community quietly, one at a time,” said Dr. Peters. “Supporting their mission is personal to me, and I’m proud to stand with the organization for this very important effort.”
“Dr. Peters and the Lenny Peters Foundation have been longtime supporters and always advocates for all of the good work that Open Door Ministries does,” said Ross. “Dr Peters’ generosity makes a real difference in the lives of the people we serve every day. We’re incredibly grateful for his continued support and the impact it has not only on Open Door, but our whole community.”
Open Door Ministries will host its Masquerade Gala & Auction event on Friday, September 18 at 6 pm at the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame, located at 311 South Hamilton Street in High Point. The Lenny Peters Foundation and Bethany Medical are presenting sponsors of the event.
