A new school year brings a new chapter for the children at the Lenny Peters Home for Children in Klerksdorp, South Africa.
In January, the Lenny Peters Foundation shared a glimpse of the children beginning 2026 in its Back to School video. The young faces featured in the video represent the children at the heart of the Home and a part of their everyday lives: learning and growing in a place centered on their care.
At the Home, going back to school is one part of a much larger story.
Growing Up at the Lenny Peters Home
Located in South Africa’s North West Province, the Home cares for approximately 30 to 40 children aged 2 to 5.
The children are fed and educated, taught to play and pray and, above all, cared for with love. Together, those simple things reflect the environment the Home provides during some of the earliest years of their lives.
The Back to School video puts faces to that work. Beyond marking the beginning of another school year, it offers a chance to see some of the children at the heart of the Foundation’s work in Klerksdorp.
One School Year, Many Moments Ahead
The first days of school are only the beginning. A year is made up of all the smaller moments that follow.
For the children at the Lenny Peters Home, those moments unfold in a place the Foundation describes as safe and supportive. Education is part of their lives there, alongside the play, prayer and care that shape their time at the Home.
The Back to School video captures one moment in a year filled with many more to come. As the children continue through 2026, so do the everyday experiences that make up life at the Home.
As the school year moves forward, life at the Lenny Peters Home for Children does, too. For the young children who call it home, there are still lessons to learn, games to play and many more moments ahead.
