The founder, Dr. Lenny Peters, has been a medical practitioner for over 30 years and fervently believes in the health and wellness of others. Through his success in building Bethany Medical Center and Peters Medical Research, it is his goal to give back to the local Piedmont Triad community in North Carolina. The Lenny Peters Foundation was built out of that desire. Another one of Dr. Peters’ goals in starting the Foundation was to give back to his heritage in India. Thus the Jayamatha Orphanage of Kerala, India was founded.
Dr. Peters has raised four talented children who currently work in the fields of medicine, finance, and banking.

An alumnus of Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy, Don Bulla has dedicated his considerable expertise, training and talents these past twenty years to serving under Dr. Lenny Peters. The Foundation is proud to have Don as its Vice President, as well as President of Dr. Peter’s research firm, Peters Medical Research. This firm provides a way for new medications to be tested, evaluated, and eventually brought to market to treat many types of medical conditions. Don also believes in giving back to the Triad community that he and his wife Lydia and their three daughters have resided in during more than 25 years of dedicated service to the community.
Dr. Shirin Peters attended medical school at New York Medical College and completed her residency at the former St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, NY and Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She, her husband, and son now live in Manhattan, NY where she manages her own private practice, Bethany Medical Clinic of New York.
Elise Peters Carey graduated with a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2007 and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, graduating in 2015. Elise is the President of Bethany Medical Center, Peters Development and Peters Holdings. Prior to joining the family entities, she held various strategic planning and finance positions at American Express and Capital One. She began her career consulting financial institutions on market data, treasury services, and capital management. Elise resides in the Triad with her husband and daughter.
Anthony Peters, MD completed medical school at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 2015. He is currently completing his residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA where he lives with his wife.
Nicole Peters received her B.A. in International Comparative Studies at Duke University in 2012 before working at Warby Parker. She then completed a Web Development Immersive at General Assembly. She currently lives in North Carolina and works as an Information Systems Analyst at Bethany Medical Center.
