BLANKETED IN WARMTH
The Lenny Peters Foundation and Bethany Medical to Give Away Blankets to the High Point Community at Skeet Club Road Location
High Point, N.C. — The not-so-scrawny groundhog from Punxsutawney drew the ire of many earlier this month when he viewed his shadow outside his burrow at Pennsylvania’s famed Gobbler’s Knob, his home/ritual prognosticator’s post. According to tradition, Phil the furry forecaster ascribed six more weeks of wintry conditions to an already active season rather than ushering in an early onset of spring.
While that might not mean much to our Northern friends for whom all the extra snow, ice and wind already endured this year is par for the course, for those of us south of the Mason-Dixon Line the news was anything but welcome.
Dr. Lenny Peters, the Lenny Peters Foundation and Bethany Medical are dedicated to caring for the people of High Point, particularly those who might need a little extra help when it matters most. Therefore, in keeping with their commitment to identify and answer a community need each month, Bethany Medical and the Foundation will hold a warm blanket giveaway on Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Bethany Medical at Skeet Club Road location.
“We want everyone in the community to know they are cared for and that means being good neighbors to those who live and work side-by-side in this community,” said Dr. Peters. “With these small gestures we hope to show not only that we care and are here for our friends, but also what can be done with just a little effort and a little compassion.”
The event will kick off at 1580 Skeet Club Rd. in High Point at 6:30 p.m., with a performance by the Magic Feet Dance Company. The event will see 100 blankets handed out to the first 100 families who arrive, and food trucks will be on hand to supply warm food and tasty treats to those who come out.
Yard signs will be posted to help those unfamiliar with the area find their way.
Bethany Medical offices, including those at Skeet Club Road, are open seven days a week, providing Easy Access and Best Experience from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 336-218-0094, or by visiting mybethanymedical.com.
